Brief biography:
Reinhard Schäfer.

Reinhard Schäfer (54) has been managing director of Lufthansa Revenue Services GmbH (LRS) in Norderstedt since December 1st 2006.

After training as travel management assistant, Mr Schäfer was employed in the travel agency sector before switching in 1982 to Lufthansa, where he has worked at various positions in the areas sales, marketing, route and product management and in controlling of Lufthansa Passage.

Since 1996, Mr Schäfer has held various executive positions within Lufthansa. He worked in sales controlling, headed several process and IT projects in Lufthansa sales and established up to his change to Norderstedt the Call Centre network of Lufthansa Passage with eventually nine locations and about 1,500 employees globally.

With Mr Schäfer’s move to LRS, the strategic orientation of LRS was adapted to the changes in Lufthansa Group. From then, LRS has increasingly regarded itself as service provider for the entire group. The area of activity of LRS was expanded with services for revenue reporting and the carrying out of the accounting and reporting of joint ventures within the STAR Alliance. The marketing of the SAP-based accounting platform SIRAX was also stepped up.
